Master of Sustainable Practice

This program brings together people with similar questions to find a way forward in the ambiguity of sustainability. Problems are articulated as projects. By working together on similar projects - for example, in the areas of water usage, energy, food, liveable cities, waste management, climate management or risk management - the programs explore the complexities of sustainability problems with people who have similar interests but come from a range of discipline backgrounds, and provide opportunity for action learning in each student's work or personal context.

Entry Requirements:

An Australian bachelor degree in any discipline; or evidence of experience that demonstrates a developed knowledge of the field of study sufficient to undertake the program.

Structure:

192 credit points. This incorporates the Graduate Diploma (96 credit points). Subjects studied may include: Sustainability Body of Practice 1; Sustainability Body of Practice 2; Sustainability Body of Practice 3; Sustainability Exegesis; Sustainability Project 1; Sustainability Project 2; Sustainability Project 3; Sustainability Project 4. Classes are held in intensive mode, normally 5 full days per semester (mostly Saturdays). Elective subjects may run as evening classes.

Study Pathways:

If applicants have a qualification in a relevant discipline at honours degree or postgraduate/masters level (AQF level 8 or 9) you may be eligible for exemption of up to 48 credit points (equivalent to one semester of full time study).

Further information:

Graduates will be able to lead change in sustainability issues within an organisation, as they will have an expanded view of sustainability and how this can be practiced, through their projects, case studies and critical evaluation of their experience in this area.
