This program is an industry based graduate certificate collaboratively developed with the Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) Sydney and the University of Notre Dame Australia.This program will further develop the registered nurses capability to provide evidenced based comprehensive person centred care to patient and their families. Participants will be immersed in a specialist clinical environment where they will be mentored by clinical experts and their learning will be scaffolded by contextually meaningful learning activities to enable them to develop specialist knowledge and practice. Graduates will be equipped to conduct advanced clinical assessments, interpret clinical data and make sound clinical judgements about patient care. They will apply critical thinking and clinical reasoning to their practice which will be based on current evidence and research. Graduates will be clinical leaders who effectively collaborate with the interprofessional team and they will provide mentoring and teach the intraprofessional team. Furthermore, the graduates will have the capacity for self-assessment and be self -regulated life-long learners. This is a two (2) year part-time program, where the volume of learning is 600 hours.
