This course is designed to meet entry requirements for the profession of Medical Sonography. Graduates will have knowledge and skills to practice as a medical sonographer either in public hospitals or private radiology practices in any state of Australia. Skill development will be gained within the course via software and laboratory based simulation and through student led ultrasound clinics. Students typically seek paid employment as trainee sonographers, prior to enrolment in such a course, to assist in meeting these clinical skill development requirements.

Standard entry requirements
Applicants must have completed either: a Bachelor degree in medical radiation science OR a Bachelor degree and be able to demonstrate successful study of 2 units of anatomy and physiology at Bachelor degree (AQF 7) level or equivalent. There are non-standard English language requirements for this course. To be eligible students must have an academic IELTS of 7.0, or equivalent.
Study pathways
This course will be articulated with the Master of Medical Ultrasound course which allow student to further develop medical ultrasound skills and knowledge.
