Students learn how a multi-disciplinary perspective can be used to address economic, financial and social issues including those relevant to the Indigenous community. This course prepares students for a career in business management by providing a thorough understanding of the core functions of management and business administration. Students are given the opportunity to explore various divisions and responsibilities of an organisation and how to operate effectively in a dynamic global business environment. An emphasis is placed on decision-making and problem-solving, cognitive analytical skills to synthesise organisational knowledge in diverse contexts, and to communicate clearly the ideas/solutions developed through a creative process.

Structure

The course is structured into a series of modules designed to focus specifically on the core functions of management. Each module comprises four subjects (24 credit points), one of which is an applied project that consolidates and extends the knowledge taught in the other three subjects. Students complete a total of six modules (144 credit points) to graduate from the course. The project subjects from each module form part of a 'capstone stream' of subjects aimed to support and deepen students' generic and knowledge skills development in the final capstone subject.
