The scholarship was established to encourage rural students to undertake study in Science at UNSW.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; be proposing to undertake full-time study in the first year of the Bachelor of Science program or the Bachelor of Advanced Science program at UNSW; be commencing study after undertaking the HSC (or equivalent) in the year prior to enrolling; and have been a resident of and attended school, for at least 4 years of the applicant's high school studies, in a rural or isolated area of NSW. Selection is based on academic merit. Consideration will be given to financial need, the reasons for the proposed program of study.

Further details

Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, Wollongong, the Blue Mountains and their surrounding areas are not classified as rural for the purposes of this Scholarship.
