The Daniel and Helen Gauchat Residential Scholarship for Rural Medical Students is a residential scholarship for students from a rural area in their first year of studying Medicine whilst living at one of the Kensington Colleges at UNSW.

Eligibility

Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents; have completed the HSC or equivalent in the previous 2 years; be proposing to undertake full-time study in the first year of an undergraduate Medical degree program; have been offered a place to reside at one of the Kensington Colleges. Selection is based on: academic merit; leadership qualities; contribution to the wider community; and commitment to external studies such as arts, music, culture, sports. A non-family member reference is required.

Amount $8,000

The scholarship is valued at $8,000 and will help cover the costs of residential fees at one of the Kensington Colleges.
