Certificate IV in Ministry

Vose Seminary

This is a 12 month course designed to equip learners with the necessary vocational skills and experience to arrive ministry ready to a range of positions, including volunteer and staff leaders, religious education teachers, children and youth ministry workers, cross cultural workers and chaplains. This award offers a range of units to assist in ministry specialisation and accreditation requirements for the Baptist churches of Western Australia.

Year 12 or equivalent


8 units: 4 core; 4 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Prepare and deliver a New Testament bible study; Analyse and present an overview of the relevance of Old Testament writings; Lead a topical discussion on a Christian Doctrine; Conduct spiritual formation exercises in mentoring and group contexts. Electives: Organise personal work priorities and development; Implement operational plan; Work with people with mental health issues; Respond holistically to client issues and refer appropriately; Plan for the provision of pastoral and spiritual care; Conduct analysis of mission agencies; plus more.

Established in 1963, Vose Seminary is a Registered Training Organisation providing theological and ministry education for all denominations. Vose offers fully accredited courses in both the Vocational and Educational Training (VET) sector (from Certificate IV to Diploma) and the Higher Education sector, as part of the national Australian College of Theology (from Associate Degree to Master degrees, and facilitating research Masters and Doctorates). Full-time courses are open to overseas students. FEE-HELP is available to eligible students.
