Plan and manage events: from conferences and conventions to food festivals and weddings. The management and operation of an event is a highly skilled and technical undertaking - and it is also big business. An event could be a small business seminar, or it could include a large international conference, the annual Taste of Sydney food and wine showcase, a high profile society wedding or a charity dinner for 2000 people in a five-star hotel. This program will teach students how to manage and operate an event from conception, through to operation and post-production. With guided industry experience along the way they will acquire the theoretical skills and operational knowledge to stand out in the industry.

Year 12 or equivalent; any completed Diploma; or any completed foundation Certificate; special entry can be applied for if students have demonstrated the ability to undertake study at this level through work experience, and/or other formal, informal or non-formal study attempted and/or completed

Course Credit is available upon academic approval. Block Credit is available ensures quick and easy recognition of your previous studies. An AQF level 5 Diploma in an aligned field will be eligible for block credit of 80 credit points. An AQF level 6 Advanced Diploma in an aligned field will be eligible for block credit of 120 credit points.

William Blue Dining TUA’s award-winning student training restaurant open to the public. With a seating capacity of 60 places, it’s open to the public for lunch and dinner, and gives vocational students the chance to learn upmarket food and beverage service skills in a live environment. William Blue Dining showcases the talents required of a hospitality industry professional. The daily interaction with real customers will give you a deeper understanding of the many challenges of the industry – operational, financial or even psychological. This understanding will single you out from less experienced colleagues in the workplace.

Part of the college’s niche is strong engagement with the wider hospitality industry, largely through the operation of William Blue Dining as well as through connections with celebrity chefs such as Giovanni Pilu, Colin Fassnidge and Neil Perry.
