From instability in the Middle East to global warming and its impact on human populations, there are a range of global security threats facing Australia and the Asia Pacific region. In the rapidly changing and uncertain world, employers are increasingly seeking graduates with the ability to analyse and respond to complex security challenges. The Bachelor of International Security Studies at ANU allows students to delve deeply into contemporary security issues facing nations, international organisations and businesses around the world - including the threats posed by military power, civil war, terrorism, cybercrime, environmental degradation and food security. Students will develop practical skills that will equip them to critically analyse international security threats and policy responses and graduate with the ability to play a part in minimising their impact. Students will finish university with a degree that will open the door to their dream career in international relations - whether that's working for an international organisation such as the United Nations; providing advice to government in defence, foreign affairs and trade or intelligence; or analysing security threats for a multinational corporations such as airlines and telecommunications.

- An Australian year 12 qualification or international equivalent
- OR A completed Associate Diploma, Associate Degree, AQF Diploma, Diploma, AQF Advanced Diploma, Graduate Certificate or international equivalent
- OR At least one standard full-time year (1.0 FTE) in a single program of degree level study at an Australian higher education institution or international equivalent
- OR An approved tertiary preparation course unless subsequent study is undertaken.

Credit will be granted for equivalent studies as appropriate at other universities or equivalent institutions. The College has flexible credit arrangements and up to 1/3 of the program (the elective sequence) may be granted as credit for prior tertiary studies.

This course can be taken as part of a flexible double degree which allows students to combine two Bachelor degrees of their choice. Students can build their own combination to suit both a career path and a personal passion with other degrees such as Law, Commerce and Asian Studies. They may be eligible for bonus points towards their ATAR for this program.
