The Graduate Certificate in Public Administration requires 0.5 years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The course is offered by the College of Business, Government and Law. The course articulates with the 36 unit Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Administration and the 72 unit Master of Public Administration, and the sequentially developed topics enable progression through the three awards. The course is also available as an exit award from the 72 unit Master of Public Administration subject to meeting the requirements in the Program of Study below. In order to be able to exit with the Graduate Certificate in Public Administration students must indicate their intention to not proceed with the primary degree and request that they exit with the Graduate Certificate in Public Administration. It is planned that this course will be offered in the Adelaide CBD in future years.
Structure
Students complete at least one core (compulsory) topic and three option topics chosen from a range of option topics available. These topics aim to provide an understanding of the key theoretical concepts, major historical themes and significant current issues in public administration. This graduate certificate articulates into the Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Administration and the Master of Public Administration.
