This degree aims to provide students with an understanding of the issues facing water resource managers, an advanced interdisciplinary knowledge in this field, and the ability to strategically assess ways of addressing these issues.
Structure
- Students complete seven core (compulsory) topics
- either a minor research project or a major research project
- and option topics chosen from a range of option topics available. These topics aim to provide students the overview as well as the depth of knowledge and application of skills in the different aspects of water resources management including project management and integrated water management, and becoming professionally aware through quality interaction with industry leaders.

Standard entry requirements
- Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline of science and engineering such as agricultural science, biology, chemistry, earth sciences, mathematics, physics, and engineering disciplines such as civil and/or environmental engineering
- Or hold the Graduate Diploma in Science (Water Resources Management) or equivalent qualification.
Study pathways
The University may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, consider applicants who do not hold a bachelor degree or equivalent but can demonstrate relevant higher education study with relevant work experience, or relevant work experience which may meet the requirements for entry into the course.
