This course focuses on job readiness, to give students the practical skills needed to operate effectively in business environments. Students will develop strong business knowledge, while also building their expertise from day one in one of four distinct areas: Accountancy, Finance and Economics, Management Practice or Marketing Communications. Their learning experience at Monash is enhanced through a range of co-curricular activities that develop critical thinking, communication and negotiation skills, and employment opportunities including: leadership and professional development programs; and networking opportunities with business leaders. Students will also have the opportunity to undertake an internship to put their theory into practice, and enable students to graduate with work-ready skills and practical experience. Great management and proper administration are essential for the success of every business, large or small. Every industry needs people with strong business skills to manage, grow and improve the day-to-day operations of organisations and workforce.

Entry Requirements:

Year 12 or relevant equivalent; Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in two units (any study combination) of General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics; and Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in English other than EAL

Structure:

The course consists of 24 units (144 points): This includes eight foundation business knowledge and business practice units (48 points), a group of eight specialist discipline knowledge units (48 points) and eight free elective study units (48 points) which will enable students to further develop knowledge of their chosen major or business more broadly.

Students can use their professional skills to work in general management and operations, or become a leader in their chosen field. It gives a broad range of career options in fields such as accounting, economics, marketing, management, consulting and government. This course is also available as a double degree and can be combined with Arts and Media Communication. Please note travel between campuses is required for both double degree options.
