Nutritional Medicine combines food as medicine traditions and dietary therapy with recent scientific advances in nutritional biochemistry and therapeutics which are now used by conventional and holistic practitioners alike. Nutritional Medicine practitioners understand the nutritional, dietary and lifestyle factors which impact wellbeing throughout the lifespan, during illness and disease. Nutritional Medicine practitioners seek to educate the individual or community on the impact of food choices in the maintenance of wellbeing and management of disease.
Structure
3 trimesters of 12 weeks (plus exams). Full-time load is 4 subjects per trimester. Subjects include: Anatomy and Physiology, Bioscience, Nutritional Medicine, Human nutrition, Nutritional science, Food packaging, Public Health nutrition.

- Year 12 or equivalent
- 1 science related subject
- Recommended: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Education, Human Development, Psychology
- Or mature age (21 years of age and over)

Study pathways
Students can apply for course credits if they have completed relevant previous studies at another institution.
Further information
Mature age students must have a minimum of Year 10 schooling plus demonstrated life/work experience in the admission interview.
