This exciting field of study is much more than the simple preservation of existing buildings. Instead, by engaging with history, your role is to provide value to building owners, visitors and cultural bodies, all of which have a shared interest in understanding, adapting and preserving our heritage. Graduates from architectural, urban planning, archaeological, historical, engineering or related backgrounds, or the Bachelor of Architecture and Environments, can develop their specialist conservation and adaptive reuse skills through this course. We also welcome applicants from other disciplines.

Standard entry requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification with a credit average mark across all units
  • Or completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate diploma
  • Or completion of the requirements of the graduate certificate with a weighted average mark of at least 70 across all units attempted for the award.
