This program provides an opportunity for professionals to extend their expertise in counselling theory and practice following the completion of a graduate diploma. This is not an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited psychology course. This course is designed for people working in a human services role, who have counselling as a large part of their work, or who wish to move their careers towards counselling. The course includes units specific to counselling theory and practice, a counselling research project (Minor Thesis), and a counselling placement.

Standard entry requirements
- Overseas applicants who satisfy the entry requirements for Australian resident students (or demonstrate equivalence) must provide evidence of: proficiency in the English language: IELTS or equivalent overall score of 6.5 and no individual band score less than 6.0
- A Bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline. Relevant Bachelor degree
- Applicants with relevant work, education and/or counselling experience may be considered on the basis of equivalence
- Applicants must be able to provide academic and professional references and may be required to attend a selection interview and provide samples of their work
