This program focuses on both theoretical and practical dimensions of communications. It provides introductory level units in which students will acquire the fundamental skills that are essential to the program and their future career. The program is identical to the first year of university studies. On successful completion, students are eligible to enter second year of University with advanced standing.

Graduates may transfer into the 2nd year of the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Media and Communications, Bachelor of Contemporary Arts, Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management or Bachelor of Marketing Advertising and Public Relations at Edith Cowan University (with a choice of majors) (8 credits).
