As the world becomes more connected, the demand to relate to globalisation, multilingual and intercultural encounters increases. Applied linguistics is a rapidly growing field and increasingly recognised for its ability to solve language-related problems at a micro and macro level. The Monash Graduate Certificate in Applied Linguistics introduces graduates to the importance of language across a range of professional and personal, online and offline contexts. It offers an innovative response to the growing importance of digital language and technologies. This is complemented by a focus on intercultural communication and the study of English (both grammar and use) in multilingual societies. You will gain knowledge, understanding and skills to reflect upon and respond to the increasingly important role of language in multilingual and multicultural societies, including Australia.
